Brand Style Guide Template and Generator

Add your logo, pick your colours and fonts, and write a few voice words and do's and don'ts. The tool builds a one-page brand sheet with every colour in HEX, RGB and HSL, its contrast ratio against white and black with the WCAG levels it passes, and a live font preview. Print it or save it as a PDF, or copy the colours and fonts as CSS variables or JSON tokens for your developer. Everything runs in your browser. Nothing you type or upload is sent to We.Inc or anyone else. Your logo is only shown on this page and is never uploaded.

How it works

  1. Enter the brand name and a one-line description of what the brand does.
  2. Upload a logo (PNG, JPG, SVG or WebP). It stays in your browser and is used only for the preview and the printout.
  3. Pick primary, secondary and accent colours, plus text and background. Each shows HEX, RGB and HSL and its contrast ratio against white and black.
  4. Choose a heading font and a body font from common Google Fonts. The preview loads them so you see real type.
  5. Write three to five voice words, and a short list of do's and don'ts for how the brand is used.
  6. Print or save as PDF, or copy the CSS variables or JSON tokens.

Why a one-page brand guide is enough for most businesses

Brand books from large companies run to dozens of pages because many teams and agencies apply them. A small business mostly needs its designer, web builder and social media helper to use the same colours, fonts and tone. One page that answers those questions exactly is more likely to be read and followed.

Exact values matter most. "Blue" means something different to everyone; #4F98FB does not.

Checking colours for accessibility

A brand colour that looks good in a logo can be too light for text. The contrast figures on the sheet show which pairings pass WCAG levels, so you can decide early which colour is for text, which is for buttons and which is only for decoration.

For a closer look at a pair of colours, use the colour contrast checker; for exploring shades, the hex colour picker.

Applying the guide to a website

The brief at the bottom carries your brand name, colours, fonts and voice into the We.Inc builder as a theme for a new site. AI building is on paid plans, starting with Starter at $20 a month; the free plan gives you up to 3 template sites on a we.inc address.

Tips

Frequently asked questions

What should a brand style guide include?

At a minimum: the logo and how not to use it, the colour palette with exact values, the fonts for headings and body text, and a short description of the tone of voice. Larger guides add photography, icon and layout rules; a one-page sheet like this covers what most small businesses and their designers need.

How is the contrast ratio worked out?

The tool uses the WCAG 2 formula: it calculates the relative luminance of each colour and divides the lighter by the darker (each plus 0.05). 4.5:1 passes AA for normal text, 3:1 passes AA for large text, and 7:1 passes AAA for normal text.

Is my logo uploaded anywhere?

No. The browser reads the file locally and shows it on this page and in the print window. Nothing is sent to a server, and it is gone when you close the tab.

Why are fonts loaded from Google Fonts?

To show you real type in the preview, the page loads the fonts you pick from Google Fonts, which means your browser requests them from Google. Only the font names are sent, not anything you type. The exported CSS includes the matching Google Fonts link so your site can load them the same way.

What are design tokens?

Named values for colours and fonts, such as --brand-primary: #4F98FB, that developers use in code instead of repeating raw values. The CSS variables drop straight into a stylesheet; the JSON works with most design token tools.

Can I edit it later?

The tool does not save anything. Copy the JSON tokens to keep a record of your choices, and print a PDF for sharing.
