A review QR code works when the customer has a spare moment and their phone is already out. For a cafe that means the counter while the coffee is being made or a table card. For a salon, the reception desk while they pay. For a trade business, a small card left with the invoice or a sticker inside the van door.
Worked example: a bakery prints the A6 card with "Enjoyed your visit? Tell us how we did" and the QR code, puts one by the till and one on the window ledge where people eat. The same link goes at the bottom of the email receipt, so customers who ordered online get the same ask.
Two rules catch most small businesses. First, no incentives: "10% off your next visit for a review" is not allowed, and neither is a prize draw for reviewers. Second, no gating: you cannot ask only the customers who seemed happy, or send unhappy ones to a private form and happy ones to Google.
