About this design
Dark Art-Director Portfolio opens with a dark hero dominated by a large label — "COLLECTION '26" — in wide-spaced caps, establishing an art-direction sensibility from the first line. Beneath it, the name "Michael Smith" appears in a lighter weight, followed by the descriptor "A Creative lives in Chicago. Designing seamless digital interactions by focusing on the unique nuances which bring systems to life." Navigation (Home, Work, Resume, Say hi) is minimal and sits quietly at the top, with the social link "Say hi ↗" carrying an external-link arrow as the only interactive accent.
Two CTAs sit side by side at the bottom of the hero: "See Works" and "Reach out..." — the ellipsis on the second deliberately casual, reinforcing a personal rather than agency tone. The truncated scroll indicator at the base of the screen implies a longer project grid below. The dark background and airy type hierarchy create a focused, editorial identity appropriate for a product or UX designer showcasing one year's work as a curated collection rather than an exhaustive archive. The template suits interaction designers, digital product designers and UX leads who want a personal site that feels more like a cultural object than a CV.
