Accessible HTML Table Generator

Paste rows from a spreadsheet or CSV, or start from a service price list or opening hours preset. You get a proper HTML table, with a caption, header cells and scope attributes that screen readers use, plus a short CSS block that keeps it readable on phones. Every value is escaped, so pasted text cannot break your page. Everything runs in your browser. Nothing you type is sent to We.Inc or anyone else, and it is gone when you close the tab.

How it works

  1. Pick a preset or paste your own rows. Commas, tabs (from a spreadsheet) and semicolons all work, and quoted values with commas inside are kept together.
  2. Choose whether the first row holds column headings and whether the first column labels each row. Those become th cells with scope attributes.
  3. Write a caption. It names the table for screen reader users and appears above it for everyone.
  4. Pick a style and preview it at desktop and phone widths. Wide tables scroll sideways inside their own box on small screens instead of squashing.
  5. Copy the HTML and the CSS, or download both as one file.

Price lists and opening hours are tables

Most small business sites have at least two tables: what things cost and when you are open. Both are genuine tabular data, so they should be marked up as tables, with each price tied to its service and each time tied to its day.

The presets here start you off with those two shapes. Replace the example rows with your own before you publish; they are placeholders, not real prices.

Tips

Frequently asked questions

What makes an HTML table accessible?

A caption that names it, th header cells for column and row headings, and scope attributes that say whether a header belongs to a column or a row. Screen readers use these to announce which heading each value belongs to. This generator adds all three.

Why not build the table from divs?

A grid of divs can look like a table, but assistive technology cannot tell which cell belongs to which heading. A real table element carries that meaning for free.

How is a responsive table handled?

The table sits in a box that scrolls sideways on narrow screens. The box is focusable and labelled with the caption, so keyboard users can scroll it too.

Is my data escaped?

Yes. Ampersands, angle brackets and quotes in your cells are converted to HTML entities, so a cell that contains <script> shows as text instead of running.

Can I paste straight from Excel or Google Sheets?

Yes. Copied cells arrive separated by tabs, which the tool detects automatically.

Is this free?

Yes, with no signup. It runs in your browser.
