SVG to PNG Converter for Website Logos

Drop in an SVG or paste its code, choose a width or scale and a transparent or solid background, and download a sharp PNG. You can also grab a ZIP with common website logo sizes. The conversion runs inside your browser, so your file is never uploaded.

How it works

  1. Choose an SVG file or paste the SVG code. Files up to 2 MB are accepted.
  2. The tool reads the size from the SVG's width, height and viewBox, and warns you if the viewBox is missing (that is what makes an SVG scale cleanly).
  3. Scripts, event handlers and links to outside files are stripped before drawing, so the SVG cannot run code or fetch anything.
  4. Pick a width or a scale (1x to 4x) and a background. Output is capped at 4096 pixels on the longest side.
  5. Download the PNG, or download a ZIP of website sizes: header logo, retina header logo, square icon and social card.

When SVG is still the better website format

SVG describes shapes rather than pixels, so a logo stays perfectly sharp whether it is 40 pixels on a phone or 400 on a big monitor. A simple logo as SVG is often only a few kilobytes, smaller than the PNG it would replace.

PNG is the better choice where SVG is not accepted or not safe to show: email signatures, social media profile pictures, marketplace listings and many form uploads. That is where this converter helps.

What the viewBox check means

The viewBox tells a browser the coordinate space of the drawing. Without it, an SVG can only be shown at its original width and height, and resizing it crops or leaves empty space instead of scaling. If the tool warns you, open the file in your design tool and export it again with the viewBox kept.

Tips

Frequently asked questions

Is this SVG to PNG converter free and private?

Yes. It is free, needs no signup, and the conversion happens in your own browser using the built-in canvas. The SVG is not uploaded to We.Inc or anyone else.

Does the PNG keep a transparent background?

Yes, if you choose the transparent option. Anything the SVG leaves empty stays see-through in the PNG. You can also pick white or any solid colour.

What size should my PNG logo be?

For a website header, export at twice the displayed size. A logo shown 200 pixels wide should be exported 400 pixels wide. The size pack includes 200, 400, 512 square and 1200 by 630 social card versions.

Why does my SVG look different as a PNG?

The usual causes are fonts that are not installed in your browser, images linked from other websites (blocked for safety) and CSS stored in a separate file. Convert text to outlines and embed images inside the SVG to fix it.

Is there a size limit?

SVG files up to 2 MB, and PNG output up to 4096 pixels on the longest side. That keeps the conversion fast and avoids running out of memory on phones.

Should I use SVG or PNG on my website?

SVG for logos, icons and simple illustrations, because it is sharp at every size and usually lighter. PNG or WebP for photos and for places that do not accept SVG.
