Apple Business (Formerly Business Connect): Claim Your Apple Maps Place Card | How-to Guide

How Apple Business, which replaced Apple Business Connect in April 2026, lets you control the place card shown in Apple Maps and other Apple apps, how to claim it, and which parts of the card are worth filling in.

When someone on an iPhone asks Siri for a nearby bakery or taps a pin in Apple Maps, the details they see come from Apple's own place data, not from Google. Apple Business is the free service that lets the owner manage that information. Apple announced in March 2026 that it would replace Apple Business Connect and Apple Business Manager when it launched on 15 April 2026, with existing Business Connect locations and place card details moved across automatically.

What it controls

Apple describes place cards in Apple Business as appearing across Maps, Safari and Spotlight, with brand details also shown in Wallet. The core of it is the place card: name, category, address, phone, website, hours, photos and logo. If you never claim it, Apple fills the card from its data providers, which may be out of date.

Claiming your place card

  1. Go to Apple Business at business.apple.com and sign in. If more than one person will manage the listing, set up access for each of them rather than sharing one login.
  2. Search for your business. If a place card exists, claim it; otherwise add a new location.
  3. Verify that you represent the business, using whichever method Apple offers you during the claim.

Apple also verifies the company itself, so use the legal name and details that match your registration.

Fields worth completing

  • Category. Choose the most specific one available.
  • Hours and special hours. Siri answers "is it open?" from these, so keep holidays up to date.
  • Photos and logo. A cover photo and logo make the card look owned and current.
  • Actions. Apple lets you add custom actions such as ordering or reserving that link to your preferred website or app.
  • Website. Link to a page that matches the card's details.

Showcases

Showcases are a section on the place card for timely content, such as a deal, a seasonal item or a new product. They are useful for businesses with regular promotions, but an accurate core card matters more than a showcase.

Service businesses

If customers do not visit you, check how Apple's options handle your situation before adding a public address. Keep the name and phone consistent with your Google and Bing listings so the three do not contradict each other.

Insights

Apple Business shows how customers find and interact with your locations on Maps, including searches, views and taps on actions. These figures are a rough view of how often iPhone users meet your business, which most owners never see otherwise.

Branded Mail and other extras

Apple has added features over time, such as Branded Mail, which shows your business name and logo in the Mail app for verified businesses. These are optional. Start with the place card and come back to the extras once the basics are right.

Multiple locations

Businesses with several sites can manage each location from one Apple Business account. Give every location its own accurate hours and phone number rather than pointing them all at head office, because people searching from Maps want the branch in front of them.

A simple maintenance habit

Put a reminder in your calendar a week before every public holiday to update special hours on Google, Bing and Apple together. That one habit prevents the most common complaint from listings: a customer turning up to a closed door.

Your place card can only link to one website, so that site needs to answer what an iPhone user came to check. SEO God Mode helps keep a We.Inc site full of clear service pages, with every draft sent to you in a Publish or Skip email.
