How to Add a Trustpilot Widget to Your Website
A TrustBox comes in two pieces. In Trustpilot Business, pick and configure a widget, then copy the bootstrap script for your site's head and the widget snippet for the spot where reviews should show. Which widgets you can use depends on your Trustpilot plan; the free plan offers a small selection.
| Piece | Where it goes | Paste it |
|---|---|---|
| Bootstrap script | Inside <head> | Once, site-wide |
| Widget snippet | In the page body | Once per widget placement |
Updated
Trustpilot widgets pull your live rating and recent reviews from Trustpilot onto your site. Because the content comes from an independent platform, visitors read it differently from testimonials you wrote yourself. The widget is loaded by script, so its reviews are not part of your own page text.
Add a Trustpilot widget on We.Inc, WordPress, Wix, Squarespace or plain HTML
We.Inc
- Copy both pieces of TrustBox code from Trustpilot.
- Paste them into the AI chat with a placement, for example 'add this Trustpilot widget under the hero on the home page'.
- Look at the preview, then publish; the rating appears once the live page loads Trustpilot's script.
Trustpilot is not one of the Add-ons, so the AI places the code in your site for you. That editing uses credits on a paid plan.
WordPress
- Go to Plugins > Add Plugin and search for Trustpilot's official reviews plugin.
- Install and activate it, then connect your Trustpilot account in its settings.
- Use the plugin's TrustBox settings to choose a widget and position.
- Without the plugin, add the head script through your theme's header settings and the snippet in a Custom HTML block.
WordPress.com needs a paid plan to install plugins.
Wix
- Open Settings > Custom Code (under Development & integrations) and click + Add Custom Code.
- Paste the bootstrap script, apply it to All pages and place it in Head.
- In the Editor, add an Embed HTML element where the widget should show and paste the widget snippet.
- Publish and view the live site.
Wix's Custom Code needs the site published with a connected domain.
Squarespace
- Open the Code Injection panel and paste the bootstrap script into the Header field.
- Edit the page and add a Code block where the widget goes.
- Paste the widget snippet and save.
Code Injection and JavaScript in code blocks need the Core, Plus or Advanced plan.
Plain HTML
- Paste the bootstrap script inside <head> on every page.
- Paste the widget div in the body where it should render.
- Leave the data attributes Trustpilot generated untouched; they identify your business and the widget template.

Trustpilot or Google reviews?
Local businesses usually earn far more Google reviews than Trustpilot ones, because customers already use Google Maps. Online shops and software companies often do better on Trustpilot. Show whichever has the stronger, more recent record; our Google reviews guide covers that option.
How it works
- Log in to Trustpilot Business and open the widget area (labelled Share & promote or Showcase, depending on your account).
- Choose a widget type and configure colours, size and language.
- Copy the head script and the widget snippet.
- Add the script to every page and the snippet where it should appear.
- Publish and check the rating loads.
Tips
- Do not copy Trustpilot review text into your own structured data to win stars in Google. Google does not show review stars for a business's reviews of itself on its own site.
- Keep the widget near the decision point, such as beside the pricing table or checkout button, not only in the footer.
- Match the widget to the review count. A carousel with three reviews looks thin; a compact rating badge reads better until you have more.
- If the widget appears blank, check your domain is listed in your Trustpilot account settings and your cookie banner is not blocking it.
Frequently asked questions
Are Trustpilot widgets free?
Some are. Free accounts get a limited set of TrustBoxes, and the larger review carousels and product review widgets need a paid plan. The widget gallery in your account marks which ones need an upgrade.
Does a Trustpilot widget help SEO?
Not much directly. The reviews load by JavaScript from Trustpilot and are not your page's content. Its value is trust and conversion.
Can I show only my 5-star reviews?
Some widgets let you filter by star rating. Showing only top reviews is allowed by the tool but readers notice, and a 4.6 with visible mixed reviews often persuades more than a perfect wall.
