A working photographer usually pays for two things: client galleries with storage, and a portfolio website. Here is what each costs and how the pairs add up.
We.Inc is free to start, no credit card. AI building from $20/mo.
Pixieset's gallery pricing page listed Free (3 GB, 15% commission on store sales), Basic $8, Plus $16, Pro $24 and Ultimate $40 a month billed annually ($10, $20, $30 and $50 month to month) as of September 2026. Pic-Time listed Free, Beginner $7, Professional $21 and Advanced $42 a month billed yearly ($8, $25, $50 monthly).
Those are gallery prices. Pixieset sells its website builder as a separate product with a free tier, and its website plan prices were not shown to us on September 28, 2026, so check pixieset.com before you add it. A photographer with about 100 GB of galleries and a separate website on their own domain typically pays around $400 to $500 a year for the pair (worked examples below).
| Pixieset | Pic-Time | |
|---|---|---|
| Free plan | 3 GB; 15% commission on store sales | 10 GB photo (3 GB after 6 months), 1 GB video |
| Entry plan | Basic $8/mo (10 GB) | Beginner $7/mo (20 GB photo, 5 GB video) |
| Around 100 GB | Plus $16/mo (100 GB) | Professional $21/mo (100 GB photo, 30 GB video) |

Just starting out, a handful of galleries a year: a free gallery plan and a free website tier will do, though the Pixieset free plan takes 15% of store sales. A working photographer delivering a few sessions a month: a 100 GB gallery plan (Pixieset Plus $16 or Pic-Time Professional $21, billed annually) plus a website on your own domain. A high-volume wedding photographer: Pixieset Pro (1 TB) or Ultimate, or Pic-Time Advanced. A photographer who wants the portfolio site written from a description and galleries kept where they are: an AI website builder for the site, linking to the gallery tool.
Assume about 100 GB of client galleries and a portfolio website on your own domain, billed annually, prices as of September 28, 2026, and no price change at renewal.
Pixieset Plus galleries ($192 a year) plus a We.Inc Starter website ($20 a month, $240 a year): $432 a year, $1,296 over three years. Pic-Time Professional ($252 a year) plus We.Inc Starter: $492 a year, $1,476 over three years. Pixieset Plus plus a Squarespace Core site ($17 a month billed annually, $204 a year, from Squarespace's page on September 25, 2026): $396 a year, $1,188 over three years.
Keeping everything in Pixieset is also an option; add its website price from pixieset.com to the $192 once you have it. Your domain is extra in every case after any first-year offer.
Storage is the main driver: count the gigabytes you delivered last year and pick the plan above it. Next is store commission, which matters if you sell prints: it is 15% on Pixieset's free plan and applies on some Pic-Time plans. Last is monthly billing, which costs about 20% more than annual on both tools.
Prices only tell you half the story. The fairest way to judge a photography website builder is to give it the same small job you would give any builder: a five-page website for a local service business (home, services, about, reviews and contact).
1. Build the service list with a price or short description for each service. 2. Add a quote request form and send yourself a test entry to check it arrives. 3. Connect a custom domain and confirm the site loads on it with a padlock. 4. Change one piece of content, such as a new service or opening hours, and time how long it takes. 5. Check the result on a phone.
Note which plan each step needed. That tells you the plan you will really pay for, which is often not the cheapest one advertised. When the site is live, run it through our free website grader to check search basics and speed.
Keep your original files in your own backup, not only in a gallery tool, so switching is a matter of re-uploading. Your domain is yours to point at any website. Before you commit, check how each tool lets you download galleries and whether client favourites and orders can be exported.
We.Inc builds the portfolio website, not client galleries. Keep Pixieset or Pic-Time for delivery and link to it from your site.
Where We.Inc fits: the free plan publishes up to 3 template sites on a we.inc address, with no AI and no custom domain, and needs no credit card. AI building, where you describe the site and it is written for you, starts at $20 a month (Starter, 250 credits); Pro is $50 and Max is $99.
We.Inc makes a competing website builder, so read this with that in mind. Every price on this page comes from the vendor's own pricing page on the date shown, with a link to it. We say where the other option is the better choice, and we do not publish scores for tests we have not run.
Pixieset's gallery pricing listed Free, Basic $8, Plus $16, Pro $24 and Ultimate $40 a month billed annually, or $10 to $50 month to month, as of September 2026. Its website builder is priced separately.
Yes, with 3 GB of storage and a 15% commission on store sales. Paid plans remove the commission.
Pic-Time listed Free, Beginner $7, Professional $21 and Advanced $42 a month billed yearly ($8, $25 and $50 monthly) as of September 2026.
At about 100 GB, Pixieset Plus ($16 a month billed annually) costs less than Pic-Time Professional ($21). Pic-Time gives more free storage for the first six months and includes video storage.
Gallery plus website usually lands around $400 to $500 a year for a working photographer on annual billing, going by the worked examples above. Your domain is extra.
Not necessarily; Pixieset sells a website product too. Many photographers use a separate website builder and link to their galleries.
