Markdown to HTML conversion turns plain-text formatting into tags: # Title becomes <h1>, **bold** becomes <strong>, a line starting with - becomes a list item. Type or paste Markdown on the left to get clean HTML and a live preview on the right, with tables, task lists, footnotes and heading ids included.

A split editor with a live preview, the GitHub-style extras people actually use, a safe mode for content from other people, and three ways out: bare HTML, a full HTML file, or HTML with inline styles that survives being pasted into an email editor.
An id on each heading lets you link straight to a section, as in /docs#install, and lets a table of contents jump around the page. The ids here follow the same pattern GitHub uses, so links you already have from a README keep working when the content moves to a website.
When two headings have the same text, the second one gets -1 added to its id, the third -2, and so on, so every id stays unique.
The download option wraps the HTML in a complete document with a readable stylesheet, which is enough for a changelog, a policy page or a quick handout. For a full website, the converted HTML can go into any page template or site builder that accepts custom HTML.
Going the other way, the HTML to Markdown converter turns existing pages back into Markdown, which is handy when moving content into a docs repository.
The everyday CommonMark syntax (headings, emphasis, links, images, lists, quotes, code blocks, rules) plus the GitHub Flavored Markdown extras: tables, task lists, strikethrough and bare URL links. Footnotes work the way GitHub renders them. It is a compact converter rather than a full spec implementation, so very unusual nesting may differ from GitHub.
With Safe mode on, raw HTML in the Markdown is shown as text and link targets that could run script are replaced. That covers the usual risks for content you did not write. If you convert on your own server for user content, still run the result through an HTML sanitiser such as DOMPurify.
Use Copy for email. Email editors strip style blocks, so that option writes the styles onto each tag (inline). Paste the result into the HTML or source view of your email tool.
No. Conversion runs in your browser, and files you open are read locally.
