Many sites print separate pixel sizes for the logo, the cover photo and every other slot. Google's help page does not: it gives one set of photo rules and names three photo types. Pick an image below and the checker reads its format, file size and dimensions on your own device, then tells you which rule it misses.
Your image is read on this device only. It is never uploaded.
No photo chosen yet.
If you also put the photo on your website, give the browser its real size so the page does not jump while it loads, and let it load lazily if it sits below the fold.
The width and height match the exported file, and the alt text describes the photo for people who cannot see it.

Google names a logo, which helps people recognise your business, a cover photo shown at the top of the profile, and business photos that show off what you offer.
Customers can also add their own photos. You cannot set those sizes, but your own uploads decide what most people see first.
Your site can carry larger versions. Serve them in a modern format and compressed so pages stay fast, and add alt text that says what the photo shows.
Google's photo help gives no separate logo size. The general photo rules apply: JPG or PNG, 10 KB to 5 MB, at least 250 x 250 pixels, with 720 x 720 recommended. A square logo works best.
The help page describes the cover photo as the image at the top of your profile but lists no dedicated pixel size. Use the same 720 x 720 recommendation and keep the main subject in the centre.
Common causes are a file under 10 KB or over 5 MB, a format other than JPG or PNG, a size below 250 pixels on a side, or a photo that is blurry, dark or heavily altered.
No. The page reads the file in your browser with a local object URL. Nothing leaves your device.
