A suspension means Google believes the profile breaks its guidelines, so it is hidden from the public until you fix the cause and win an appeal. Check your name, address and eligibility first, gather documents such as a business licence or utility bill, then file through the appeals tool. Google says appeals can only be submitted once.
| Type | Examples Google lists |
|---|---|
| Registration | Business registration documents |
| Licences | Business licences |
| Tax | Tax certificates |
| Utility bills | Electricity, phone, water or internet |

Google's help page does not tell you which rule a profile broke, so the work is to find the likely cause yourself before using your single appeal. Go through the checklist below; each line comes from Google's Business Profile guidelines. Anything you cannot tick is what to fix, and to document, before you appeal.
0 of 8 guidelines met
Put the same name, address and phone in your site footer. The address element marks contact information for an organization.
Write each detail exactly as it appears on the profile and on your documents.
<footer>
<address style="font-style:normal;font:15px/1.6 system-ui,sans-serif">
<strong>Harbor Bike Repair</strong><br>
12 Pier Road, Suite 3, Portland, ME 04101<br>
<a href="tel:+15550142">555-0142</a>
</address>
</footer>
The name must be the business's real-world name, as used on the storefront, website and stationery. Adding keywords, a tagline or promotional words to the name is against the guidelines.
The address must be precise. Google says P.O. boxes and remote mailboxes are not acceptable, and businesses that travel to customers should hide their address and set a service area instead.
The reviewer compares your documents with the profile. Use the same spelling, suite number and format on the profile, your website footer and the documents you upload.
Google suspends profiles it believes violate its guidelines. Guideline points worth checking first are keywords added to the business name, an address that is a P.O. box or unstaffed virtual office, duplicate profiles, or a business that does not meet in-person contact rules.
Google's help page says appeals can only be submitted once. If an appeal is denied, it points to a local appeals contact form where you can ask for another review with new evidence.
Google says it reviews the appeal and emails you the decision, but its help page gives no time frame. Keep an eye on the email address tied to the account.
No. Google tells suspended owners not to create a new Business Profile for the same business, and its guidelines forbid more than one page for each location.
A profile suspension affects one listing. An account restriction affects every profile the account manages and blocks new claims; Google says to lift that first before appealing a profile.
