Pros and cons
Bolt.new
Best for: Developers and makers who want a full-stack app scaffolded and editable in the browser
Price: Free (1M tokens a month); Pro $25 a month (10M tokens); Teams $30 per member a month; checked Oct 28, 2026
Pros: Real free tier with a monthly token allowance; Pro tokens roll over instead of expiring; Full code in the browser, ready to export
Cons: Token use grows with project size, so costs are hard to predict; Free plan's 300K daily cap stops long sessions; Yearly prices were not shown on the pricing page we read
We.Inc
Best for: Business owners who want a finished website rather than an app codebase
Price: Free plan: up to 3 template sites on a we.inc address, no AI. AI building from $20/mo (Starter, 250 credits). Pro $50/mo, Max $99/mo.
Pros: Describe what you want in chat and AI builds a full, editable site or app; Edit by clicking on the page, by asking in chat, or in a real code editor; Export the React and TypeScript code to GitHub, so you are never locked in; Unlimited sites on paid plans, custom domains from Starter
Cons: The free plan is templates only; AI building needs a paid plan; Newer platform with a smaller app marketplace than the big names; Store features are simpler than a dedicated ecommerce platform
What a token is, and why big projects cost more
Bolt.new charges for the text the AI reads and writes. Each request sends the model your instructions plus enough of your project to work on, so the same short request costs more tokens in a large project than in a new one.
That is the main thing to plan around. A fresh landing page can be built many times over on the free allowance; a growing app with dozens of files can use a Pro month quickly, especially if you ask for broad rewrites rather than targeted changes.
Free or Pro: how to decide
Stay on Free while you are trying ideas: 1M tokens a month is enough to see whether Bolt.new suits you. The 300K daily cap is what most people hit first, because one long evening of edits can use it.
Move to Pro when you need a custom domain, want the Bolt badge gone, or keep running into the daily cap. The 10M monthly tokens with rollover make Pro the plan for regular building; Teams adds per-member allowances and central billing for groups.
Ways to make tokens last
Ask for one change at a time and name the file or component. Fix errors as they appear rather than letting several pile up, since each fix attempt re-reads the code. Download or sync your project regularly so a bad change can be undone without spending tokens on repairs.
Bolt.new compared with other AI builders
Lovable and Emergent sell credits per request instead of tokens, starting at $25 and $20 a month respectively for 100 credits. Tokens make small edits cheap and large ones expensive; credits are easier to count. Our Lovable and Emergent pricing guides cover each in detail.
Where We.Inc fits: the free plan publishes up to 3 template sites on a we.inc address, with no AI and no custom domain, and needs no credit card. AI building, where you describe the site and it is written for you, starts at $20 a month (Starter, 250 credits); Pro is $50 and Max is $99.
Who wrote this and how
We.Inc makes a competing website builder, so read this with that in mind. Every price on this page comes from the vendor's own pricing page on the date shown, with a link to it. We say where the other option is the better choice, and we do not publish scores for tests we have not run.
