USP Generator and Unique Selling Proposition Examples
A unique selling proposition (USP) is one sentence that says who you serve, what you do for them and why they should pick you over the alternatives. Answer the questions below and the tool writes several USP and value proposition statements from your answers, using fixed patterns (no AI). Below the tool are 30 illustrative examples for common small businesses. Everything runs in your browser. Nothing you type or upload is sent to We.Inc or anyone else.
How it works
Say who your best customers are, as specifically as you can: "busy parents in Leeds" beats "everyone".
Say what you do for them and the result they get, in their words.
Say why you: the thing you do that others nearby do not, or do not promise. Add proof if you have it, such as a guarantee, a licence or years in the trade.
Read the statements the tool writes: a one-line USP, a value proposition headline and subheadline, a tagline and a longer version. Copy the ones you like and edit them.
The USP formula
Most strong USPs fit one pattern: for [who], we [do what] so they [get what result], unlike [the usual alternative], because [proof]. You rarely use every part in one sentence, but writing them all down shows which part is genuinely different.
If the "why you" part could be said by every competitor (quality, friendly, affordable), keep digging. Look at how you work, who you specialise in, what you guarantee and what you refuse to do.
Where to use your USP
Your homepage headline is the most important place: visitors decide in seconds whether they are in the right place. Put the USP there, the value proposition as the subheadline and the proof right underneath.
Then repeat it on your Google Business Profile, your quotes and estimates, your van or shop sign and your social profiles, so every first impression says the same thing.

Tips
A USP should be something a competitor could not honestly say. "Great service" fails that test; "we text a photo when the job is done" passes.
Specific beats clever. Numbers, times and places make a claim believable: "same-day", "within 2 hours", "in Austin".
Only promise what you can prove and keep doing. A guarantee you cannot honour costs more than it earns.
Put the USP in your website headline, your Google Business Profile description and the first line of every quote.
Test it on three customers: if they can repeat it back a week later, it works.
Frequently asked questions
What is a unique selling proposition?
A short statement of the specific benefit you offer, to a specific customer, that competitors do not. It answers the question every buyer has: why should I choose you instead of the other options?
What is the difference between a USP and a value proposition?
They overlap. A USP focuses on what makes you different from competitors. A value proposition focuses on the value the customer gets: the result, the problem solved, the reason to buy. A good website headline usually combines both.
How do I find my USP?
List what your best customers say they like about you, list what competitors promise, and look for what is on the first list but not the second. Speed, a guarantee, a specialism, a location, a process or a price model are common starting points.
Are the 30 examples real businesses?
No. They are illustrative examples written for this page to show the pattern for different trades. They are not real customers or real businesses, and you should not copy one unless it is true for you.
Does this USP generator use AI?
No. It fills your answers into proven sentence patterns. That keeps it free, instant and private, and it can only say what you told it.
