Pros and cons
Agency redesign
Best for: Sites with many pages, integrations or a new brand
Price: Clutch: US agencies $100 to $149 an hour; most projects under $10,000

Cons: Highest cost; Months, not weeks
Builder specialist
Best for: Small business sites on Wix, Squarespace, WordPress or Webflow
Price: Clutch: $25 to $49 an hour
Pros: Lower rate; Works within the platform you already pay for
Cons: Limited to that platform; Less help with content and strategy
We.Inc
Best for: People who want to describe a site or web app in plain English and have AI build it
Price: Free plan: up to 3 template sites on a we.inc address, no AI. AI building from $20/mo (Starter, 250 credits). Pro $50/mo, Max $99/mo.
Pros: Describe what you want in chat and AI builds a full, editable site or app; Edit by clicking on the page, by asking in chat, or in a real code editor; Export the React and TypeScript code to GitHub, so you are never locked in; Unlimited sites on paid plans, custom domains from Starter
Cons: The free plan is templates only; AI building needs a paid plan; Newer platform with a smaller app marketplace than the big names; Store features are simpler than a dedicated ecommerce platform
What drives the cost
Page count, custom design versus a template, new copy and photos, integrations such as booking or a store, and moving old content all add hours. The single biggest saving is reusing what works: keeping your structure and content and changing the design costs far less than starting again.
Do not lose your search traffic
A redesign that changes page addresses without redirects can lose the search traffic the old site earned. Make a list of current pages and their traffic before you start, keep addresses where possible, and redirect any that change. Ask whoever does the work to include this in the quote.
Cheaper routes
If the site is small, a new template on your current builder plus a day of a specialist's time may be enough. Another route is to have AI draft the new design from your current content and then edit it yourself.
Where We.Inc fits: the free plan publishes up to 3 template sites on a we.inc address, with no AI and no custom domain, and needs no credit card. AI building, where you describe the site and it is written for you, starts at $20 a month (Starter, 250 credits); Pro is $50 and Max is $99.
