Open Graph Image Generator and Preview

Design the picture that appears when someone shares your link. Type a title and subtitle, pick colours and a layout, add your logo, and download a 1200 x 630 PNG. Then check how the share card looks on Facebook, LinkedIn and X and copy the meta tags for your page. Everything runs in your browser. Nothing you type or upload is sent to We.Inc or anyone else.

How it works

  1. Type the title and an optional subtitle and site name. Long titles wrap onto up to three lines.
  2. Choose a layout and a background and text colour, or pick one of the colour presets.
  3. Optionally upload your logo (PNG, JPG, SVG or WebP). It is drawn in the corner and never leaves your device.
  4. Press Download PNG to save a 1200 x 630 image, the size Facebook, LinkedIn and X use for large link previews.
  5. Upload that image to your site, paste its full URL in the Image URL box and copy the generated meta tags into your page's head.

What an Open Graph image does

When a link is pasted into Facebook, LinkedIn, X, Slack or a messaging app, the app reads the page's Open Graph tags and shows a card with an image, a title and a short description. The image is the largest part of that card, so it decides whether people notice the link at all.

Without an og:image tag, apps either show no picture or pick one from the page at random. A simple image with the page title and your brand is enough to look deliberate.

A good OG image in three rules

Say what the page is about in a few words, in large text. Use your brand colours so people recognise you across shares. Keep important content away from the edges, because some apps crop to a square or round the corners.

On a We.Inc site

Sites built with We.Inc have a page title, description and share picture you can set in the SEO panel, so the tags are written for you. This tool is useful for any site, and for making the share picture itself.

Tips

Frequently asked questions

What size should an Open Graph image be?

1200 x 630 pixels (a 1.91:1 ratio) is the standard for Facebook, LinkedIn and X large cards. This generator always exports exactly that size.

Is this OG image generator free?

Yes. No signup and no watermark. The image is drawn on a canvas in your browser and downloaded straight to your device.

Is my logo uploaded anywhere?

No. The logo is read by your browser and drawn onto the image locally. Nothing is sent to We.Inc.

How do I add the image to my website?

Upload the PNG to your site so it has a public URL, then add <meta property="og:image" content="that URL"> and a twitter:image tag to the page's head. Paste the URL into the tool and it writes the tags for you.

Why does the old image still show when I share my link?

Social networks cache previews. Re-scrape the URL with Facebook's Sharing Debugger or LinkedIn's Post Inspector, or wait for the cache to expire.

Can it read the tags from my live page?

No. Browsers stop one site from reading another, so you enter the title, description and image URL yourself and the tool shows how they will look.
