Verdict by buyer

An agency with a team building client sites by hand: Duda. A freelancer building a handful of client sites who is happy for clients to see Wix: Wix, or Wix Studio. A business owner building their own site: Wix. An agency that wants AI to write each client site on a flat plan: We.Inc.

First-year and three-year cost

Plan fees only, on annual billing at the prices checked September 2026 and assuming no change. Duda Basic is $228 a year and $684 over three years for one site; Agency is $624 and $1,872 for four sites; White Label is $1,788 and $5,364 for four sites, plus $17 a month for each extra site. Wix Light is $204 and $612 per site; Core is $348 and $1,044.

For an agency the per-site fee is what matters: multiply it by your client count. We.Inc, for comparison: the free plan costs nothing but has no AI and no custom domain. Starter, which adds AI building and custom domains, is $20 a month: $240 for the first year and $720 over three years at today's price.

A five-task test to run before you pay for Duda or Wix

Designer and agency tools are easy to judge on a demo and hard to judge on a real client job. Give Duda or Wix the same small brief: a studio or client website with a projects collection, three reusable service pages and a client who edits it after launch.

1. Set up a projects collection (title, image, summary) and add five entries. 2. Build one service page, then reuse its layout for two more and note how much you had to redo. 3. Invite the client as an editor and check what they can change, and what that seat costs. 4. Connect a custom domain and confirm it loads with a padlock. 5. Export whatever the tool lets you export and note what stays behind.

Write down which plan each step needed, including editor seats. That is the real monthly cost of a client site.

Ownership, integrations and moving away

Duda can export published sites as HTML, CSS and JavaScript, though it does not support them after export. Wix has no export, so leaving means rebuilding. Duda connects clients' billing through Stripe on Team and up; Wix adds features through its App Market. Your domains can point at either.

When each option wins

Duda wins on agency workflows and a complete white label. Wix wins on a free plan, apps and ease for a single owner. We.Inc is an option if you would rather describe the business and have AI write the first version: free for 3 template sites on a we.inc address without AI, and AI building with custom domains from $20 a month.

Who wrote this and how

We.Inc makes a competing website builder, so read this with that in mind. Every price on this page comes from the vendor's own pricing page on the date shown, with a link to it. We say where the other option is the better choice, and we do not publish scores for tests we have not run.

Frequently asked questions

Is Duda better than Wix for agencies?

For agencies managing many client sites, Duda's team roles, client access and white label are built for the job. Wix suits owners building their own site.

How much does Duda cost?

Basic is $19 a month billed annually ($25 monthly), Agency $52 ($69) and White Label $149 ($199), with extra sites $17 a month on Team and up, per duda.co/pricing in September 2026.

No. The free plan publishes up to 3 template sites on a we.inc address. AI building starts on Starter at $20/mo.
