IONOS listed its website builder at $6 a month (Starter), $1 (Plus) and $17 (Pro) for the first year, with Starter renewing at $14 and Plus at $20 a month; it did not show Pro's renewal price. Web hosting started at $4 a month (Essential), renewing at $8. All on a 1-year term, checked on ionos.com on October 28, 2026.

The second-year bill

IONOS's first-year discounts are steep: the Plus builder plan was $1 a month for year one and $20 a month after, so year one costs $12 and year two $240. The Starter builder is $72 then $168. On hosting, Essential is $48 then $96, and Plus is $12 then $168.

Plan the second year before you buy. If the renewal price is more than you want to pay, compare it with builders that charge the same price every year.

What the plans include

Builder plans (MyWebsite Now) each include a custom domain for a year, a professional email address and a 30-day money-back guarantee. Hosting plans allow unlimited sites, include one domain free for a year and a DV wildcard SSL certificate, and give 1 to 5 email accounts of 2 GB depending on the plan.

Domain prices

The IONOS domain price table listed a .com renewal at $20 a year. The first-year price was shown in two ways, as a $1 welcome offer on the domains page and as a $10 special offer in the price table, so check the checkout for the price that applies to you. The transfer price was also inconsistent between pages: $9.50 in the table, while the transfer page said the transfer itself is free and you pay a renewal year.

Where We.Inc fits: the free plan publishes up to 3 template sites on a we.inc address, with no AI and no custom domain, and needs no credit card. AI building, where you describe the site and it is written for you, starts at $20 a month (Starter, 250 credits); Pro is $50 and Max is $99.
