Toast sells a point-of-sale system with online ordering and website tools. Here is how to price the website part, and what the other routes cost.
We.Inc is free to start, no credit card. AI building from $20/mo.
Toast's pricing page returned an error to our check on September 28, 2026, so we do not quote its prices. Ask Toast for a written quote that separates the POS, online ordering, website and card processing.
Without Toast, a restaurant website can be a plain site on a website builder (We.Inc Starter is $20 a month) with your ordering tool linked in, or an all-in-one ordering platform such as Owner.com ($249 a month plus a 5% fee per order, or $499 flat) or ChowNow (from $229 a month on its page, plus 2.95% + $0.29 per transaction), as of September 2026.

Best for: Restaurants that want POS, ordering and website from one vendor
Price: Could not be read on Sept 28, 2026; ask Toast for a quote
Pros: One vendor for POS, ordering and web; Orders flow straight into the kitchen; Built for restaurants
Cons: We could not verify prices; Website tied to the POS vendor; Get processing rates in writing
Best for: Restaurants selling a lot online who want a done-for-you site and ordering
Price: Flexible $249/mo + 5% restaurant fee per order; Flat Rate $499/mo (checked Sept 28, 2026)
Pros: Website, ordering and app included; Setup and migration included; No long-term contract
Cons: Guests pay a 5% order support fee; High fixed cost for a small restaurant; Site lives on Owner's platform
Best for: People who want to describe a site or web app in plain English and have AI build it
Price: Free plan: up to 3 template sites on a we.inc address, no AI. AI building from $20/mo (Starter, 250 credits). Pro $50/mo, Max $99/mo.
Pros: Describe what you want in chat and AI builds a full, editable site or app; Edit by clicking on the page, by asking in chat, or in a real code editor; Export the React and TypeScript code to GitHub, so you are never locked in; Unlimited sites on paid plans, custom domains from Starter
Cons: The free plan is templates only; AI building needs a paid plan; Newer platform with a smaller app marketplace than the big names; Store features are simpler than a dedicated ecommerce platform
Already on Toast POS: ask Toast whether its website tools are included in your plan before paying anyone else. A busy restaurant with steady online orders: compare Owner.com's flat rate against a POS bundle. A small restaurant that mostly needs a menu, hours, photos and a link to order: a website builder plus the ordering link you already have is the cheapest route.
At September 28, 2026 prices and assuming no change: a We.Inc Starter site is $240 a year and $720 over three years, plus your domain. Owner.com Flat Rate is $5,988 a year and $17,964 over three years. Owner.com Flexible is $2,988 a year in fixed fees plus 5% of online orders: at $3,000 a month in orders that is another $1,800 a year.
ChowNow's page showed Launch as "$229/year (or $249/month)"; we read that as $229 a month billed yearly, which would be $2,748 a year plus setup and card fees. Confirm with ChowNow.
Ask for four lines in writing: monthly software, online ordering, website, and card processing rate. Ask what happens to your website and domain if you leave Toast. Then compare the total with the routes above.
Prices only tell you half the story. The fairest way to judge a restaurant website tool is to give it the same small job you would give any builder: a five-page website for a local service business (home, services, about, reviews and contact).
1. Build the service list with a price or short description for each service. 2. Add a quote request form and send yourself a test entry to check it arrives. 3. Connect a custom domain and confirm the site loads on it with a padlock. 4. Change one piece of content, such as a new service or opening hours, and time how long it takes. 5. Check the result on a phone.
Note which plan each step needed. That tells you the plan you will really pay for, which is often not the cheapest one advertised. When the site is live, run it through our free website grader to check search basics and speed.
Register your domain in your own name, not the vendor's, so you can point it anywhere. Ordering platforms keep your order history; ask how to export customers and menus before you sign.
We.Inc builds the restaurant website, not a POS or ordering system. Link your ordering tool from a clear Order online button.
Where We.Inc fits: the free plan publishes up to 3 template sites on a we.inc address, with no AI and no custom domain, and needs no credit card. AI building, where you describe the site and it is written for you, starts at $20 a month (Starter, 250 credits); Pro is $50 and Max is $99.
We.Inc makes a competing website builder, so read this with that in mind. Every price on this page comes from the vendor's own pricing page on the date shown, with a link to it. We say where the other option is the better choice, and we do not publish scores for tests we have not run.

Toast offers website and online ordering tools alongside its POS. Ask whether they are included in your plan or priced separately.
